:: Morning Prayer
Morning Prayer:
  • May all in this world be happy, may they be healthy, may they be comfortable and never miserable. May the rain come down in the proper time, may the earth yield plenty of corn, may the country be free from war, may the Brahmans be secure.
:: Prayer for Mercy
Prayer for Mercy:
  • I muse on my heart and I ponder this question: When shall I again be at one with Varuna? Will he accept without rancor my offering? When, reassured, shall I taste of his mercy? I question myself on my sin, O Varuna, desirous to know it. I seek out the wise to ask them; the sages all give me this answer, "The God, great Varuna, is angry with you." What, then, O God, is my greatest transgression for which you would ruin your singer, your friend? Tell me, O God who knows all and lacks nothing, so that, quickly prostrating, I may sinless crave pardon. Loose us from the yoke of the sins of our fathers and also from those we ourselves have committed. Release your servant, as a thief is set free from his crime or as a calf is loosed from its cord.
:: Prayer to Lakshmi
Prayer to Lakshmi:
  • Glory to you, O Mother, glory to you, mother Lakshmi. Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma meditate on you everyday and night. You are yourself the consort of Brahma, Rudra and Vishnu and the mother of the world. The sage Narada sings your praises and the Sun and the Moon meditate on you. As Durga, you grant both happiness and prosperity and he who centres his attention on you becomes a recipient of all riddhis and siddhis Prosperity and Accomplishment. None but you dwell in the nether regions of the earth and you alone ensure good luck, bring to light the effect of action (karma), and protect all worldly treasures. All the virtues collect themselves where you have your dwelling; with your grace and favor even the impossible becomes possible without causing any nervous agitation. No sacrifice can be performed without you; no one can obtain any garment; it is from you that one obtains one’s sustenance. O! daughter of the Ocean of Milk and the beauteous temple of all propitious virtues, you are verily a living mass of all fourteen gems with which none else is endowed. Whosoever hymns this prayer to Lakshmi is purged of his sins and experiences the ecstasy of joy. Jai Lakshmi mata, maya jai Lakshmi mata, Tumko nishdin sevat, Hara Vishnu vidhata, Jai Lakshmi... Brahmani, Rudrani Kamala, tuhi hai jagmata, Surya chandrama dhyavat, Narad rishi gata, Jai Lakshmi... Durga rup nirantar, sukh sampati data, Jo koi tumko dhyavat, riddhi siddhi dhan pata, Jai Lakshmi... Tuhi hai patal Basanti, tuhi shubh data, Karma prabhav prakashak, jagnidhi se trata, Jai Lakshmi... Jisghar men tum rahati, sab sadgun ata, Karna sake koi karle, man nahin ghabrata, Jai Lakshmi.... Tum bin yagya na hove, vastra na koi pata, Khan pan ka vaibhava, sab tumse ata, Jai Lakshmi... Shubh gun mandir sundar, Kshirodadhi jata, Ratan charurdash tumhin, koi nahTh pata, Jai Lakshmi... Arti Lakshmi ji ki, jo koi nar gata, Ur anand ati umeg, pap utar jata, Jai Lakshmi...
:: The Maha MrityunJai Mantra
The Maha MrityunJai Mantra:
  • "THREYAMBAKAM YAJAAMAHE SUGANDHIM PUSHTIVARDHANAM. OORVAARUKAMIVA BANDHANAATH MRITYOR MIKSHIEYA MAAMAMRUTHAATH"
  • Meaning: I worship the three eyed Lord who is naturally fragrant, immensely merciful & and who is the Protector of the devotees. By your Grace, Let me be in the state of salvation (Moksha) and be saved from the clutches of fearful death. The Maha MrityunJai Mantra is very much a protector from accidents, mishaps and daily calamities in the modern busy life. Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, a rishi from India, has stressed the immense effect of this Mantra which when recited with faith, while leaving home, frees one from accidents and other calamities that can bring death. When God is so merciful why not benefit from such simple formulas. Many Rishis have recommended that you recite this Mantra once when you go out of your home. It is very much suitable for the present day Life style when one is too much involved in a busy routine & activities. May this Mantra benefit one & all.
:: Tears of Love
Tears of Love:
  • O my Lord, when will my eyes be decorated with tears of love flowing constantly when I chant Your holy name? When will my voice choke up, and when will the hairs of my body stand on end at the recitation of Your name?
:: My Lord, You are the source of all I see
My Lord, You are the source of all I see:
  • Visnujana Maharaja singing his heart out in the glistening sun: O Lord, the sun's effulgence hides Your face. Your blissful form lies far beyond my eyes. Now Your wonders call my heart's embrace As dawn displays Your beauty in the skies. The rainbow shows the colors of Your dress. The movements of the moon reflect Your mind. Your smiling is the cause of happiness, and love exists because You are so kind. O Govinda, within my heart, celestial herdsman, lotus-eyed one, Your precious gift of love impart. You who stand behind the sun. O Lord, You're the one. You're the one in my heart. The rolling rivers flow forth from Your veins, the clouds that fill the sky come from Your hair, the seeds of life are watered by Your rains, and from Your breathing blows the mighty air. My Lord, You are the source of all I see. Your movements are the passing days of time. You are the resting place of all that be, and love exists because You are so kind. O Govinda, within my heart, celestial herdsman, lotus-eyed one, Your precious gift of love impart. You stand behind the sun. O Lord, You're the one. You're the one in my heart...
